At the Gymnasium Verl there is a sequence of languages taught by the teacher. But you can choose your languages at some times.

5th grade: English

6th grade: choice between Latin and French

9th grade: choice between Latin and French within the differentiation

11th grade: Latin recommencement (high school students who did not have French until 10th grade have to choose this)

There is a chance to choose only one language at the beginning of year 11. Indeed because of this way those students have to choose a point of balance in natural science for the years in sixth form.

In addition to that there is always the possibility to choose a language study group. These are the offered study groups:
